Journalists are invited to attend the 37th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues in Glasgow. 

The European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS) welcomes registrations from journalists with relevant media credentials.  However it should be noted that press facilities will be limited during the conference and further details are given below.

ABOUT ECTS

The European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS) is the major organisation in Europe for researchers and clinicians working in the field of calcified tissues and related fields. The Society acts as a forum for the dissemination of high quality research through its annual meeting, the European Symposium on Calcified Tissues, training courses and workshops.  

PROGRAMME TOPICS

The scientific programme will offer up to date research on bone and mineralized tissue, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of metabolic bone disease.

MEDIA TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Media representatives who satisfy the criteria below are invited to register for the meeting here.

Only members of the working press can attend. Identification will be required at the registration desk.  Freelance journalists must bring a letter of intent from their editor and should also bring evidence of previous publications.

A Press Pass will be issued free of charge to journalists (including freelance
journalists) for recognised:

  • journals, magazines and news publications
  • news agencies
  • broadcast media
  • web publications

Representatives engaged in the following are NOT entitled to a Press Pass but may register as a delegate:

  • public relations
  • sales and marketing
  • advertising
  • commercial exhibitions

The organisers of the 37th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues reserve the right to refuse a Press Pass.

Media representatives receive the following:

Complimentary meeting registration
Media pack with press releases
Abstracts on CD ROM
Admission to scientific, education and poster sessions
Admission to the commercial exhibition
Admission to the Welcome Reception
ECTS reserves the right to deny meeting admission to any media representatives who do not abide by the policies described herein or who misuse these privileges by engaging in activities other than journalistic pursuits.
 
Media representatives of accredited news organizations who wish to attend the meeting for editorial coverage purposes are eligible to register as press. To qualify, please provide a photocopy of your media credentials, plus official documents or a letter on your news organization’s letterhead verifying assignment to the meeting.

Freelance journalists must provide a letter of assignment on the accredited news organization’s letterhead and must provide copies of three bylined articles on medical/scientific topics.

Online media, medical publishing organizations, non-profit health care organizations and university publications representatives must meet the following criteria:

  • Web sites must contain original, editorial news coverage
  • Editorial content must be free from advertising or sponsorships
  • Advertisers must be clearly identified
  • Web sites of for-profit organizations must have more than one sponsor and those sponsors must be clearly identified.
  • ECTS does not give, rent or sell on-site media registration lists. That information is considered proprietary.

Individuals from companies or organizations that produce material of any type that is at any time is intended for marketing, financial analysis, advertising or public relations purposes may not register as media.

EMBARGO POLICY

Media representatives are required to abide by the ECTS embargo policy. The embargo policy requires that coverage of abstracts, posters and other research being presented at the meeting is prohibited until one hour after the presentation.

ON-SITE REGISTRATION AND REQUIREMENTS

We advise you to register in advance and reserve appropriate accommodation.  The ECTS is not responsible for making any accommodation arrangements for journalists.

Registered media representatives are required to wear their ECTS name badges at all times while in the meeting venue; no one is admitted to sessions without a badge. All sessions are open to the media.
Photography, audio recording and videotaping of scientific and educational sessions is prohibited.

Please note that there will be no dedicated press office or press officer available at the congress venue in Glasgow.

USE OF ECTS LOGO

In order to avoid the appearance of endorsement, the use of the ECTS name and logo, and the meeting name may not be used in news releases or articles except to say “This science/research was presented at the 37th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues in Glasgow, UK, 26-30 June 2010”
