Welcome

We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended the 36th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues for making it yet another successful meeting!

Firstly, our thanks goes to the invited faculty of speakers, chairs, reviewers and committee members who contributed much time and effort to help create an exciting and cutting-edge programme highlighting the latest advances in the field of calcified tissues and bone metabolism, addressing basic, translational and clinical research. Once again this was complemented by a programme of exceptionally high quality oral abstracts and poster presentations. Thank-you to all those who submitted abstracts – a record number were received this year!

Secondly, we very much appreciate the continued support that we receive from our sponsors and exhibitors whose details can be seen by clicking here.

Finally, our gratitude goes to the delegates for attending our meeting. Yet again we enjoyed a fantastic turnout with over 2500 in attendance!

If you were unable to attend the meeting, you can still view online the programme and abstracts and also for the first time – a webcast of the very stimulating ECTS/ASBMR debate on ‘Asymptomatic primary hyperparathyroidism: to operate or not?’ is now available and of course, please don't forget to register your interest in our future meetings:

L'Aquila Earthquake Appeal

On behalf of the University of L'Aquila, my co-workers and myself wish to thank the ECTS and delegates attending the Vienna meeting for their generous donations which amounted to a total of Euros 1852, which will contribute to the reconstruction of the University buildings damaged by the earthquake. We are very grateful to our friends and colleagues for their support.
