Travelling to and from Vienna
Arriving by air: Vienna Airport (airport code
VIE) is 15 km (8 miles) from the city centre of Vienna. A taxi takes
20-30 minutes depending on the traffic for a fare of €20-25.
There is an excellent connection by fast train called “CAT”
which departs for Wien Mitte every 30 minutes and takes approximately
16 minutes. Return ticket cost: €15 and single ticket: €8.
The cheapest way to get to and from the airport is by S-Bahn 7 (Federal
Railway System – ÖBB). This terminates at Wien-Nord (Praterstern),
passing through Wien-Mitte, and takes around 25 minutes.
Departing by air: Buses will depart for the airport
from outside the Reed Messe after the Closing Ceremony.
Arriving by rail: The 3 main stations serving
Vienna are Westbahnhof, Südbahnhof and Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof.
The stations are connected to Vienna’s public transport system
by U-Bahn, tram and bus services.
Bus connections: Vienna Airport Line buses can
be taken to and from the airport and the centre of Vienna (Schwedenplatz/Morzinplatz)
and other destinations in Vienna. Journey time: approximately 25-35
minutes.

The Reed Messe is easily reached from hotels located within the
city centre by underground (U-Bahn) or taxi.
U-Bahn from Wien Mitte: U4 (green line) to Schottenring
then U2 (violet line) to Messe Prater or Krieau.
U-Bahn from Wien-Nord (Praterstern): U2 (violet
line) to Messe Prater or Krieau.
Taxi: From the city centre the journey takes between
10 to 20 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Buses will depart from the Reed Messe at 19:30 at the end of the
satellite symposium. No return.
Monday 25 May, 20:00-22:00

Buses will depart from the Reed Messe at 19:30 at the end of the
satellite symposium. Return to Reed Messe and Vienna City.
Tuesday 26 May, 20:00-late
Conference Party at Weingut Fuhrgassl-Huber
Buses will depart from different meeting points in the city.

22:00: Return transfer with stops at the following hotels; Imperial,
Marriott, Radisson, Ring, Park Inn, Novotel City and Messe, Austria
Center, Handelskai

22:00: Return transfer with stops at Schwedenplatz, State Opera
and City Hall

Free Public Transport Pass
All delegates and accompanying persons are offered a public transport
pass. To receive your pass please exchange the voucher included
in your registration documents for the pass at the bags and transport
desk at the conference.
Travel Insurance
A travel insurance policy to cover theft, loss and medical problems
is recommended. The organisers will not be held liable for illness,
accidents or thefts suffered by participants or accompanying persons
during the conference or their stay in Austria before or after the
conference.
Visa
If you are an EU citizen, you must either present a passport or
an ID card valid for the duration of your stay in order to enter
Austria for tourist visits of up to three months. Citizens of other
countries must have a valid passport. Some non-EU citizens are required
to produce a visa. Please contact your travel agent or the nearest
Austrian diplomatic post for further information. Should you need
a letter of invitation to register to obtain an Entry Visa, please
contact MCI. Please
