At the start of this New Year we look forward to the forthcoming ECTS Annual Meeting in Innsbruck, taking place from 23rd to 25th May 2024. True to tradition, but also in step with the times and forward-thinking, the ECTS 2025 will showcase cutting-edge research and the latest breakthroughs in the musculoskeletal field, in a stimulating environment for successful scientific exchanges and professional development.
The ECTS 2025 Scientific Program Committee has designed a program featuring worldwide experts on the various topics, forecasted to garner attention from clinicians, basic scientists, and health professionals.
In particular, the Basic Science Program of ECTS 2025 comprises a Big Basic Science session about Non-traditional models for bone research (Ron Kwon and Mara Riminucci); two Symposia, dealing respectively with the interplay between the skeletal system and hematopoiesis (Olaia Naveiras and Drorit Neumann) and the vasculature of the musculoskeletal system (Christa Maes and Ralf Adams); an exciting Basic debate on the osteoclast resorption modes, with two very competitive opponents (Anna Teti and Kent Soe); two Basic Science Update sessions, related to molecular biology and material features of the bone tissue (Furqan Shah and Nadja Fratzl-Zelman); and five Meet-the-Expert sessions dealing with the genetics of rare skeletal disorders (Geert Mortier), the role of extracellular vesicles in the crosstalk between bone cells (Nadia Rucci), genome editing technologies, high-resolution 3D imaging of bone (Diana Passaro) and epigenetics of bone diseases (Kyung-Hyun Park-Min).
Also the pre-congress venue on May 22nd will be a must-attend event, offering plenty of science in the Open Fora (addressing a range of topics: from bone marrow adiposity and nutrition, to the crosstalk between osteoclast and local immunity, and alternative models to study bone properties) the ECTS Fishbone workshop and the ECTS-ISBM workshop, together with additional possibilities to create new connections and brush up old ones.
Discover the full program on the ECTS website.
Don’t miss the early registration deadline on March 23rd and the possibility to present your research, increase your knowledge, liaise with peers, and foster your network of collaborations.
Looking forward to seeing you in Innsbruck!
