Osteogenesis imperfecta
Topics to be covered
The session deals with the various forms of osteogenesis
imperfecta, in particular the newly described types. The importance of
specialized diagnostic procedures such as genetic testing and bone biopsy
is discussed. Regarding therapy, the multidisciplinary approach to treating
such patients is outlined. A special emphasis is on the use of bisphosphonates
in the treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta: Whom to treat? Which drug?
