Do you want to hear the good reasons to attend? The congress will be held in Marseille, the second largest city in France, facing the Mediterranean Sea and rich of history. Marseille has an excellent accessibility from Europe and abroad and in May it offers pleasant temperature and great atmosphere.
But what about the programme? You will be astonished by the excellence and perfect balance between basic science a clinical research, two fields that at ECTS 2020 will cross-fertilise each other creating new opportunities to networking and establishing collaborations. ECTS 2020 is also a great incubator for new investigators who will have the great opportunity to present their work to the giants of the musculoskeletal field, at the same time learning from them. New investigators will be walked to the excellence of the programme by the ECTS Academy members who are the ECTS pride and the future leaders in Europe.
How is the programme structured? Stay tuned, we will describe specific sessions of the programme in the ECTS Newsletters, starting from this issue with Professor Christian Meier, clinical co-chair of the ECTS 2020 Scientific Programme Committee, who will explain how the clinical programme will be developed. But you should not wait so long to receive information on the major clues of the programme. Visit the ECTS 2020 website at https://www.ects2020.org/ and you will see that we have a rich main programme and an even more reach ancillary programme. The main programme includes the What is New session to learn the most recent development in clinical and basic science, 4 plenary symposia that will keep basic and clinical scientists together and will include an Insights from Outside session, 6 workshops (3 basic and 3 clinical) and the Big Clinical Session. The ancillary programme will start on 15 May with workshops, East meets West session, working groups and the ECTS Academy New Generation synergy session. We will continue the next days with basic, technological and clinical update sessions, educational symposia, industry symposia and Meet the Expert sessions. Plenty of time for visiting posters and many oral presentations are in the programme.
New this year we will have several sessions dedicated to the Allied Health Professional programme (AHP), with two symposia and one Meet the Expert session. Finally, the ECTS will hold various joint sessions with other societies, including the interactive ECTS/ASBMR debate, the ECTS/ERA-EDTA workshop, the ECTS/ICCBH workshop, the ECTS/CABS and the ECTS/IFMRS sessions. Last, but not least, a French National Day is planned on 15 May to host a very rich national programme.
