Clinical Training Course in Metabolic Bone Diseases

Course Description
A new initiative from the European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS), this two-day training course is particularly designed for clinicians in training with a particular interest in the field of mineral metabolism and metabolic bone diseases, including osteoporosis.
The programme will provide participants with the fundamental and advanced knowledge in clinical skills for the evaluation and management of patients with a metabolic bone disease. Delegates will also gain a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic tools and treatment options.
The training course will combine state-of-the-art lectures with discussion of cases in small groups. It will offer plenty of opportunities for networking and share ideas.
Learning Objectives
The 2022 training course will develop over two-full days training and will:
- Inform about metabolic bone diseases and disorders of mineral homeostasis
- Discuss cases to illustrate key points in diagnosis and treatment
- Identify clinical guidelines that should be followed
- Offer advice about management of individual cases
Target Audience
This course is mainly aimed at clinicians in training and clinical PhD students, but it is also of interest to specialists willing to update their knowledge, allied health professionals, and industry delegates.
CME Accreditation
The Clinical Training Course on Metabolic Bone Diseases, Online (Brussels, Belgium), 15 and 29 November 2022 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 9 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Breakdown per day is as follow:
- 15 November : 5 credits
- 29 November : 4 credits
Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Registration Cancellation and insurance
In any event beyond ECTS control, including war, strikes, lockouts, riots and other civil disturbances, nature events such as earthquakes, floods and droughts, virus outbreaks and any other causes or circumstance of whatsoever nature beyond its control that have an impact on the arrangements, timetables or planning of the meeting, ECTS and/or its agents have the right to immediately alter or cancel the meeting or any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items relating directly or indirectly to the meeting. The participants shall not be entitled to any compensation for damages that result from such alteration or cancellation. The liability of the organisers will be limited to the refund and they will not be liable for any other losses incurred.
In addition, the organisers shall not be held liable for any personal accidents, illness, losses or damage to private property of delegates registered for the course. Delegates are therefore advised to take out their own comprehensive insurance.
Any cancellation must be made in writing and sent to dorota.doszko@ectsoc.org. For cancellations received by 1 October 2022, fees will be refunded less an administration fee of €30.00. No refunds will be made after this date.
