The ECTS congress expands and provides the ECTS committed members with an exciting pre-congress day on Friday 15 May 2020. This day is dedicated to a number of activities that will delight the delegates in a lively and friendly atmosphere where they can attend many events and learn the most recent discoveries in the calcified tissue field. The first session will be organised as a National Day with collaboration with The French Society of Biology of Bone and Mineralized Tissues (SFBTM).
The programme will then move through with three parallel sessions. The Joint Meeting between ECTS & ERA-EDTA CKD-MBD Working Group Chronic Kidney Disease – Mineral and Bone Disorder with emphasis on biomarkers of bone fragility for bone and kidney, the ECTS/ICCBH workshop on Rare Bone Diseases, which will aim to provide the knowledge to facilitate our understanding on mineral and matrix homeostasis from infancy to adulthood, and the Bone Tissue Engineering workshop that will be focused on fundamental concepts, challenges and opportunities in this field. A total of ten working groups on several basic/translational and clinical topics will follow in three slots that will give delegates the opportunity to be updated in their respective fields of research by excellent experts in extremely interactive sessions. We are happy to involve patient organisations at the European Reference Network (ERN)-BOND Working Group 10 session.
The ECTS is continuing the traditional East meets West programme, which will start in the pre-congress day with the Symposium on The Dysmobility Syndrome, in which representatives from China, Japan, Korea, Europe and USA will compare and discuss the points of view of Eastern and Western Countries. Thanks to the effort of the ECTS Academy, the day will end with the Next Gen Synergy Session dedicated to the Next Generation of scientists in Europe, Africa, Japan and New Zealand.
