The ECTS cares about its members and delegates. Monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak it is clear that it will not be safe for anyone to attend the congress on 15-19 May 2020. Therefore, the ECTS Board has evaluated the situation and is now happy to announce that we have a new slot in the same venue in Marseille, France, on 21-24 October 2020, with the pre-congress day on 20 October.
The programme is expected to remain unchanged, although light adaptations may be necessary according to the speaker’s availability. The ECTS 2020 SPC, co-chaired by Profs Christian Meier, Christa Maes, Martine Cohen-Solal and Bo Abrahamsen, is already working to ensure the congress remains rich and comprehensive. We have no doubts, it will be strongly appreciated by our delegates.
The ECTS 2020 website will be updated regularly with new information related to the organisation, but here is what you can expect:
- Registrations: new registration deadlines will apply and if you have already registered, your registration will automatically be moved to October with no additional charges.
- Abstracts: The oral presentation and poster presentation programmes will remain the same, just check the new programme when it will be available online to identify the slot in which your work will be presented. Your abstracts will be published in Bone Reports supplement as planned and the embargo for oral presentations is removed in case you will present your data between May and October in other congresses.
Do you have more questions? The ECTS has provided a FAQ section in the congress website where you are likely to find the answers to your questions. However, if you need additional information please write at Ects2020@interplan.de. We will be happy to assist you.
Further information will be displayed in the congress website and will be circulated by dedicated newsletters in due course. For now, stay safe, follow the authorities’ recommendations and stay tuned. We care about you!
See you in Marseille on 20-24 October 2020.
