23-25 June 2020
The Covid 19 pandemic has impacted our work habits, including at the level of our Society with the cancellation of the annual ECTS PhD training Course. Over the years, this course has become an unmissable event for our students, often a first opportunity to interact closely with experts and start building a network.
Because we know that our students are the future experts in the field, training is one of the missions of ECTS. Therefore, in order not to leave our students alone during this period of uncertainty, ECTS has decided to offer them an original alternative by organizing its first online course.
In the same vein as the PhD training course, the aim of this interactive virtual event is to promote general knowledge of bone research from basics to translational and clinical aspects and to foster privileged interaction between attendees and internationally renowned experts in the field.
To further increase attractiveness and interactivity, this events will be open also to trainees and young investigators and is organized in collaboration with GEMSTONE (GEnomics of MusculoSkeletal traits TranslatiOnal Network). GEMSTONE is a COST Action consisting of an expanding network of researches of the musculoskeletal field that aims to increase the production of genetic discoveries and their biological relevance as well as pave the way to translation to new treatments and new molecular definitions of musculoskeletal disorders.
The ECTS-GEMSTONE collaboration allowed to design a highly interactive program that covers topics such as basics in bone cells, as well as new developments made in bone pathophysiology. It will address translation of bone research from bench to bedside, bone marrow adiposity, advanced diagnostic tools in metabolic bone diseases, bone imaging, artificial intelligence and models to study bone pathologies.
In addition, this virtual course will provide PhD students with a unique opportunity to present and discuss their project with specialists. Through Interactive mentoring sessions, they will be able to discuss with experts and start developing their own research network. And two workshops will be proposed on writing and communicating research.
This online course is open to students at all stages of their PhD, and to trainees and young investigators before and after their PhD.
Don’t miss this exciting virtual event! The organizing committee and the ECTS PhD training action group will be delighted to welcome you for this online course.
