In memory of Harry K Genant, MD (1942-2021)

The ECTS mourn the loss of our friend and long-time ECTS member, the eminent, hard working and ever inspirational Harry K Genant, father of modern bone radiology and mentor to many ECTS members.

Harry passed away peacefully at his home on the 14th of January.

Known to all bone clinicians for developing the Genant classification of vertebral fractures, Harry Genant was above all a dedicated researcher and much loved mentor to a generation of radiologists, physicists, orthopaedic surgeons and physicians worldwide including Europe. In the ECTS we knew Harry as a wonderful friend and a prolific mentor and scientist. We had the privilege of hearing him as an invited speaker in several ECTS meetings and also had the pleasure of many abstracts over the years from Harry and his collaborators. Our deepest condolences go to his wife Gail, his children and grandchildren.
