Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Bone Health at University of Georgia, USA
Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Bone Health (45% Research, 50% Teaching, 5% Service), 9-month academic year tenure-track appointment in the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences https://www.fcs.uga.edu.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Develop a nationally recognized and externally-funded program in the area of clinical and translational nutrition and bone health.
• Direct and support research programs of PhD and MS-level students.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition.
• Engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary research with faculty in Nutritional Sciences, the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and other UGA departments/colleges.
• Contribute to activities that serve the department, college, university, the public and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for the position of Assistant Professor, the applicant must hold an earned doctoral degree (upon appointment) in nutrition or a related scientific field. The applicant must have an academic background in the science of nutrition and have demonstrated productivity in bone-related research in health and/or disease. The applicant should have demonstrated scholarly competence and research productivity and evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates with at least two years of post-doctoral research experience and at least two years of experience conducting clinical trials focused on bone health are preferred. Candidates that demonstrate evidence of preparation and submission of external research grants are also preferred.
