BioMed Alliance and its 28 members, including ECTS, has published its position paper on the upcoming 9th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP9).
- Increased funding for health research under FP9
- Structural and balanced EU funding for basic, clinical and translational research
- Creation of a European Council for Health Research, that will support biomedical and clinical research in Europe
The position paper will be promoted through a number of media and advocacy activities with Members of the European Parliament, EU Commission and EU Council. An interesting opinion article was recently published in Science Business.
As next steps, the European Commission is preparing its proposal for the next EU R&I Framework Programme which is expected mid-2018. The Commission is constantly engaging with all interested parties to exchange experiences and ideas on how to best stimulate innovation. The BioMed Alliance Board of Directors will respond to this consultation.
