ECTS 2024 – Congress venue. By Martine Cohen-Solal

The local organizing committee will be proud to welcome you to ECTS 2024, which will be held in Marseille from 25 to 28 May 2024.

Marseille is located in South of France. The city is easily accessible with several flight connections from all over Europe, North America, and Asia and also from Paris by 3-hour train trip.

Marseille is one of the oldest cities in France. Founded circa 600 BC as Massalia by a Greek colony, is has been called Phocaea and the city of southern Gaul. Because of the strategic location, the city has received the influence of several cultures such as the Greek, Ottoman and Romanian civilisations. She remains the major city open to the Mediterranean. You will enjoy the port side, the 57 kms of coastline including the turquoise blue water of the suburban national park “les Calanques” and other numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites.

In the city centre, Marseille has many pedestrian streets and you will enjoy the emblematic Canebiere that ends to the “Vieux Port” and its unique light reported by many writers and painters. Museum, exhibitions and architecture are part of the attractions.

Marseille is a destination for the French gastronomy. You will appreciate tasting numerous specialties such as the bouillabaisse and other delicacies from around the world.

Marseille successfully embodies blends, between tradition and modernity and between land and sea. At most there is 300 days of sunshine a year. So, this is an additional reason to join us there for ECTS 2024.

We are looking forward seeing you in Marseille in May!

I did not dare to add the speciality of Marseille “La bouillabaisse”
