For the upcoming ECTS Congress 2024 in Marseille, the ECTS Academy is organizing a number of exciting events for delegates!
The events will take place during both Pre-Congress and Main Congress days and will include an Open Forum on Bone mechanobiology in mice, open to all ECTS delegates, aimed at learning approaches for applying force in in vivo models, understanding best techniques for the analysis of response to mechanical forces, and increasing awareness of recent advances in approaches connecting mechanical forces to molecular responses.
The Academy will also coordinate the New Investigator Mentoring session, during which highly esteemed international mentor scientists (e.g. Alexander Rauch from Odense University and Bjorn Busse from the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, among the others) will share their experience and thoughts on key topics including “How and where to publish your research”, “How to improve your visibility”, “Transition to independence” and “Networking for professional development: benefits of serving scientific societies”. This session will be particularly aimed at early career investigator, and interaction and fun will be warranted!
A Networking session will also be hold, during which Academy members will meet the Alumni, to share ideas and advices on different steps of career development.
The Academy will be involved in the Poster Focus event, in which selected early career basic/translational and clinical investigators will have the chance to present their activities with a short oral summary within a very friendly environment, followed by active discussion with the audience.
As usual, the ECTS Academy is also organizing a charity event, whose participants will have the chance to play pétanque, a game with a very long history. Every year Marseille hosts the best-known international championship of this game, attracting more than 10,000 participants and more than 150,000 spectators.
We are looking forward to meeting you all, during these and other initiatives, especially the early career investigators! A lounge space will be available to get in touch with us and to get information about Academy activities and how to be involved!
See you in Marseille!!!
