ECTS Clinical Training Course on Metabolic Bone Diseases. By Felix von Brackel

We warmly invite you to the ECTS Clinical Training Course on Metabolic Bone Diseases, taking place online on 14 and 17 November 2025.

This two-day event, directed by Elena Tsourdi and Felix von Brackel with the support of the ECTS Education Committee (chaired by Björn Busse), will deliver a comprehensive and practice-oriented update on the full spectrum of metabolic bone diseases.

Programme Highlights

  • Osteoporosis and Osteomalacia: from pathophysiology and diagnosis to therapeutic approaches, including early-onset osteoporosis.
  • Parathyroid Disorders: chronic hypo- and hyperparathyroidism, management in pregnancy, and genetic forms.
  • Workshops: hands-on sessions covering DXA, 3D bone imaging, and treatment sequencing with anabolic agents.
  • Challenging Topics in Osteology: clinical management in the oldest old, fracture healing under therapy, and bone marrow edema.
  • Secondary Osteoporosis: CKD-related bone disease, glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, and iron–bone interactions.
  • Specialized Workshops: rare and complex conditions including bone tumors, MTX-osteopathy, and osteogenesis imperfecta.

The course combines state-of-the-art lectures, interactive workshops, and open discussion formats. All participants are warmly invited to bring and present their own challenging clinical cases where the next steps are uncertain. These cases will be discussed with experts to provide practical guidance for everyday clinical practice. We extend our sincere thanks to all faculty for their contributions, and in particular to our colleagues joining from overseas (Danielle Whittier and Gustavo Duque from Canada) whose participation despite the time zone challenges is greatly appreciated.

Registration is open, don’t miss the chance to join this unique training opportunity. For details and updates, please visit our website.
