Exercise is important not only for muscle but also for bone health. Since the ongoing pandemic situation reduces the possibilities of everyone to work out properly and to get enough physical activity and maintain a (bone-) healthy lifestyle, the ECTS Academy invites all participants of the virtual ECTS conference to the #ECTSPlankingChallenge!
This challenge will be our annual charity event and the money raised from this event will be donated to an osteogenesis imperfecta patients organization in Belgium: ZOI (zelfhulp osteogenesis imperfecta vzw).
How it works: The ECTS Academy will provide a 5-10 minutes long workout video with different planking exercises (recorded by one of the European influencers exclusively for this ECTS event). Participants are encouraged to follow the instructions in the video for a regular planking workout. You can join the challenge as an individual or together with your friends and colleagues as a team. Participants are encouraged to send in videos and photos of their workout sessions for posting on social media to motivate all of us.
Further, individuals and teams can create their own planking exercise and name it with a creative bone-related name.
Awards will be given based on the submitted photos and videos during the challenge period (March 10th to May 8th). As every year, there will be awards to win during this charity event! First award will be for the most creative workout outfit. Second award will be for the best bone-related name of a new planking exercise. Third award will be for the funniest name of a team participating in this challenge.
In May, as it will be advertised later, there will be a live event via Zoom when all participants will join together for a live planking challenge and having some fun together although physically apart.
Join us for the #ECTSPlankingChallenge, to increase your bone and muscle strength and have some fun while donating to OI patient organization.
