The 44th European Calcified Tissue Society Congress will take place from 13 to 16 May 2017 in Salzburg, one of the most famous lovely cities of Austria.
This meeting will bring together researchers and clinicians working in the musculoskeletal field to exchange the outstanding new results, enable visionary advances, discuss controversies and disseminate new ideas in research as well as clinical care of patients.
- In the 2017 ECTS Programme, we will provide invited speaker lectures featuring some of the world’s leading experts in the field, meet-the-professor sessions, dedicated New Investigator sessions, a large number of selected oral abstracts, a busy poster and exhibition area with lunch included in the delegate fee, company-supported satellite symposia highlighting some of the latest developments in therapy and research and the always very well attended joint ECTS-ASBMR debates and lectures.
As in previous congresses, ECTS 2017 will include a New Investigator programme fully developed by the ECTS New Investigator Committee. This dedicated programme will enable our more junior colleagues to meet, network, share common interests and boost their own collaborative projects and career at an international level.
- Poster sessions for our young investigators will be embedded in the exhibition area with dedicated poster viewing time. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to showcase and discuss your work, with a significant proportion of time set aside for oral and poster presentations, as well as during breaks and meet-the-professor sessions.
We are famous for our musculoskeletal research – let’s do something for our muscles and bones:
- Absolutely new is the ECTS relay race on Sunday May 14th evening – come and join our sports teams with 4 persons per team (two women, two men)! Create your own team name and enjoy the race course in the beautiful Mirabell gardens just in front of the Salzburg Congress venue. Everybody is invited to join – important prices are prepared for the winner teams and Salzburg relay race souvenirs will be prepared for all participating athletes!
Pick up your jogging shoes for the relay race and/or try our Salzburg water front walkways along the river and in the famous surroundings of the old city!
Famous as the birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg is a cultural centre with important opera and concert events, such as the world-known Salzburg Festival.
- We will have the pleasure to invite you to a classical Mozart concert in the famous Salzburg Residenz, where the young composer had his first concerts at the age of 5 years! You will listen to typical traditional Salzburg music during several sessions – just come to the opening ceremony with the “Salzburger Nockerl” – this music group is named after a traditional Austrian meringue dessert.
You will have to the opportunity to meet and exchange information with industry partners during sponsored sessions and the exhibition area.
- Relaxation rooms in the congress venue with a nice view on the Mirabell gardens have been installed to allow just a break or even to intensify your conversation with your colleagues.
Situated in the heart of Europe, the city is easily accessible from every corner of the globe through the major European transportation hubs. The congress will be held in the Salzburg Congress Center, a versatile, modern and spacious venue, perfect in size and location for ECTS, and within easy walking distance from a range of hotels in all price categories.
- Itineraries for travelling to Salzburg will be available from the website – you might either choose a flight to Salzburg airport or come by train from Vienna or Munich via the respective airports
We look forward to welcoming you in Salzburg for another stimulating and rewarding ECTS Congress!
