Learning Objectives:

After participating in this session, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe the mechanism of action of denosumab and rationale for its use in selected rare bone disorders.
  2. Identify clinical and disease-specific factors that influence patient selection, treatment goals, and expected response to denosumab therapy.
  3. Recognize the potential benefits, risks, and monitoring requirements associated with denosumab treatment in pediatric and adult patients, including strategies to mitigate complications during treatment initiation and discontinuation.
  4. Apply current evidence to develop individualized management approaches for patients with rare bone disorders being considered for denosumab therapy.
