ECTS – ECTS Academy Coffee Shop: New investigators/ how to get the best out of the (first) ECTS meeting

ECTS Coffee Shops are a new way to bring scientists together in an informal and relaxed way to discuss topics of relevance to our field. The Coffee Shop of April will take place on 23 April, 4-5pm CET, and will be moderated by Elena Tsourdi (Dresden, Germany), Annegreet Veldhuis-Vlug (Amsterdam & Rotterdam, The Netherlands) and Ciro Menale (Naples, Italy), to discuss how an investigator who is new in the bone field  may approach  his/her (first) ECTS meeting, taking full advantage of various events organized during the congress.
  • A plethora of opportunities will be highlighted focusing on how to share data and experiences, how to get career tips from valuable mentors and how to get involved in ECTS activities.
  • Panelists will be invited to share their own experiences with regard to their first ECTS meetings and their journey within the ECTS community.

ECTS Coffee Shop – Use of antiresorptives in clinical practice

ECTS Coffee Shops are a new way to bring scientists together in an informal and relaxed way to discuss topics of relevance to our field.

The Coffee Shop of March will be held on 19 March 2021, 1pm-2pm CET, and will be moderated by Jean-Jacques Body & Stuart Ralston.

The session will consist of an informal chat between barristas and delegates in a relaxed atmosphere to reconnect with friends and colleagues for a topical discussion on the clinical use of inhibitors of bone resorption (bisphosphanates and denosumab) in the management of osteoporosis, Paget’s disease of bone, osteogenesis imperfecta and tumor bone disease (bone metastases and cancer treatment-induced bone loss).

ECTS Coffee Shops are a new way to bring scientists together in an informal and relaxed way to discuss topics of relevance to our field.

The Coffee Shop of March will be held on 1 March 2021, 12am-1pm CET, and will be moderated by Claudine Blin & Yuuki Imai.

The session will consist of an informal chat between barristas and delegates in a relaxed atmosphere to reconnect with friends and colleagues for a topical discussion about osteoclasts, osteoimmunology and what is new in the field.

ECTS Coffee Shop – Chondrocyte to Bone Transition

ECTS Coffee Shops are a new way to bring scientists together in an informal and relaxed way to discuss topics of relevance to our field.

The next Coffee Shop will be held on 15 January 2021, 2-3pm CET, and will be moderated by Andrei S Chagin and Anna Teti to discuss the plasticity of chondrocytes, their ability to transdifferentiate and form bone, and their stem- and chondroprogenitor properties.

ECTS Coffee Shops are a new way to bring scientists together in an informal and relaxed way to discuss topics of relevance to our field.

The Coffee Shop of February will take place on 10 February 2021, 4-5pm CET, and will be moderated by Bo Abrahamsen & Alison Boyce to discuss about how to look for rare bone diseases in your clinic.

The session will focus on an informal chat between barristas and delegates about how to look for rare bone diseases in your clinic – you can also bring a case to discuss. A relaxed atmosphere with the opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues for a topical chat.
