Join an international effort to study the prevalence of different presentations of hypercalcaemic hyperparathyroidism around the world.
Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is one of the most common endocrine disorders, yet its presentation varies significantly across the globe. While clinical and therapeutic aspects have been widely studied, epidemiological data remain limited—underscoring the need for a global perspective.
Study Objective
To evaluate the prevalence of different clinical presentation of hypercalcaemic hyperparathyroidism worldwide.
Who Can Participate?
- Research centers from all continents
(Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Oceania) - Each center will enroll the first 25 patients diagnosed with PHPT.
Data to Collect
- Clinical History & Physical Examination
Anthropometric data, family history, medical history (fractures, kidney stones, pancreatitis, etc) - Biochemical Values
Calcium, phosphate, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase, PTH, 25(OH)D, 24-hour urinary calcium and creatinine - Imaging & Instrumental Tests
