Postdoctoral Fellow Position at Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Osteology, Vienna, Austria

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to participate in an interdisciplinary research project studying the role of bone organic matrix quality in fragility fractures.

This project requires a high interest and skills in experimentation. Furthermore, spectral data analysis and processing is essential. Consequently, some programming experience is recommended (Matlab, python or similar).

In particular, your work will consist of:

  • Acquisition of Raman spectra
  • Spectral processing to obtain outcomes of interest
  • Statistical analysis

We offer:

  • Participation in cutting-edge research. LBIO employs a variety of modern analysis tools, including Raman spectrometers, TERS-AFM-Raman spectrometers, FTIR Imaging spectrometers,
  • Scanning acoustic microscopy, electron microscopy, light microscopy, histomorphometry, as well as a cell biology facility
  • A vibrant multidisciplinary research team
  • International collaborations
  • 2-year contract

CTeam 3-LYSBONE : Bone and Joint Pathophysiology: Bioactive lipids and mineral metabolism

Research topic: inflammation and X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) in the mouse model of the disease and in patient samples (PBMCs).

Open PhD Student Positions – Europe Horizon Marie Sklodowska-Curie Project REBONE

Open PhD Student Position (65 %, E13) – CRC1149 project

The project is part of the prestigious Collaborative Research Centre 1149 (CRC1149) “Danger response, disturbance factors and regeneration after acute trauma” and will be performed in the group of Dr. Jana Riegger-Koch at the RKU (www.riegger-lab.de). The lab is associated to the Division for Biochemistry of Joint and Connective Tissue Diseases, Orthopedic Department, University Hospital of Ulm.
