Labmanager / Staff scientist in experimental bone physiology at the Molecular Endocrinology and Stem Cell Research Unit, Odense University Hospital

The Molecular Endocrinology and Stem Cell Research Unit (KMEB) calls for applications for a staff scientist position to support the research activities of scientists with various backgrounds such as medical and life science students, clinicians, molecular biologists, epidemiologists, and geneticists. This is a 3-year full-time position with the possibility to be transformed into a permanent one. You will be employed at the Department of Endocrinology, Odense University Hospital, and start of employment will be at the candidate’s convenience in the first or second quarter of 2023.

  • More information and application: visit website here
  • Application deadline: 15 March 2023

Job description
Come join our creative and innovative research unit that combines functional, physiological, and clinical studies to tackle clinical challenges and advance basic understanding of bone metabolism. Our vision is to improve bone health in the general population and patients with common and rare conditions.

Expectations for the candidate
You are expected to become a coherent part of ongoing and future research activities that integrate clinical endocrinology research with basic molecular and cellular approaches which define the strength and unique characteristic of our unit. We perform highly ambitious and interdisciplinary projects that make use of stem cell phenotyping, flow cytometry, genetic manipulation using CRIPR-CAS, bioimaging, immunohistochemistry, spatial and single cell transcriptomics, transgenic mouse models, handling of human sample material, and clinical intervention studies. Your skills and dedication are expected to facilitate the implementation of a wide range of laboratory techniques in ongoing and future projects. As such, we expect you to independently execute experiments and to supervise experimental training of our group members and collaborators. You will take responsibility to maintain the quality of our laboratory assays and to be part of task forces to collectively establish new assays.

We offer
The KMEB leadership and group members greatly value an open, diverse, personal, and interactive working environment. We facilitate coherence by organizing group outings and cultural events.

We offer a fully financed full-time position with regular working hours and flexibility to plan your working days. We strongly encourage and support you to continuously innovate our working culture and experimental procedures. We will provide training in the procedures that have been established at KMEB and offer possibilities to exchange with other laboratories to familiarize with new techniques. We encourage you to take courses in laboratory and project management, and you will have the possibility to be part of educational activities by mentoring bachelor and master students and being a central element in the international collaborations of our research group.

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated, and collaborative scientist with:
